Waterloo Does Not Keep Normal Hours
Most office cleaning assumes a building empties at six. In Waterloo that assumption fails regularly, tech offices along Northfield and in the Research and Technology Park have people working at ten at night, and a cleaning schedule built on the standard assumption either collides with staff or simply does not happen.
The Cleaning Machine builds Waterloo schedules around when your office is genuinely available, which sometimes means overnight and sometimes means a zoned rotation that works through a floor section by section.
The Tech Corridor
Northfield Drive and the Waterloo Research and Technology Park bring their own requirements. Server rooms and lab spaces usually have access restrictions or handling rules. Open-plan floors with shared desks concentrate high-touch surfaces far more than traditional private-office layouts. Kitchens in these offices take genuinely heavy use.
All of that gets written into the scope, including which rooms our crews do not enter.
Uptown Waterloo
Uptown is dense with small and mid-size professional firms, law, accounting, design, consulting. Most occupy a suite rather than a floor, and most do not need nightly service.
For these, two or three well-scoped visits a week usually delivers a better result than a thin nightly pass at the same price. We would rather scope it honestly than sell frequency nobody needs.
Coworking and Shared Desks
Waterloo has more shared workspace per capita than most cities its size, and it changes the cleaning problem. A desk used by four different people in a week is not the same surface as one used by a single person, and the kitchen in a coworking space works harder than one in a conventional office of the same headcount.
We weight those scopes toward where the actual load sits, high-touch surfaces, kitchens and washrooms, rather than distributing effort evenly across floor area.
The University District
Anything near Columbia Street or the campuses lives on the academic calendar. Foot traffic in September bears no relationship to foot traffic in July, and a cleaning frequency set in the summer will be visibly inadequate by the second week of term. We build seasonal adjustment into the contract from the start.
Locally Owned
We are a regional business, not a national franchise running Waterloo from a call centre elsewhere. That shows up in how quickly issues actually get resolved.
